Here the object design registration is to see that the originator of a particular profitable design is having monopoly and restrain the others from applying it to their goods.
Industrial Designs in India are governed by Designs Act, 2000. According to this Act, Design means features of shapes, pattern, configuration, ornament or the composition of lines and the colors applied to any article regardless in any number of dimensional forms by industrial means or process, whether manual, mechanical or chemical, separate or combination, which in the finished article appeal to and are judged solely by the eye.
